on a dark desert highway,行驶在昏黑的荒漠公路上，

老鹰乐队 （Eagles）
加州是流行音乐的一块宝地，昔日的加州主流音乐分为两派，一派把音乐和动的本质融合在一起，为摇滚当中的动派乐流，一派反映了当时社会，文化，政治，的民谣摇滚。而EAGLES也一样，在加州成立，他们的音乐风格起初是纯正的乡村摇滚。随着七十年代的民展，EAGLES延续了乡村摇滚的精髓，将民间音乐，乡村及摇滚融为一体，树立了自已的独特的风格和形象--"加州摇滚"。他们的音乐不仅深具内涵，而且表现的技巧高人一筹，是美国70年代最出色的摇滚乐队。
EAGLES组成于1971年，为女歌手琳达·龙斯塔特录制唱片后，开始自已真正的音乐发展。1972年推出首张专集"THE EAGLES"，其中的歌曲"Take it Easy"很受欢迎。从此，Eagles在乐坛上活跃起来。70年代中期，Eagles经过了一番人员变动。1974年，吉他手Don Felder加入；1976年，吉他手乔·沃什加入乐队。乐队的每一个人都可以演唱，这不仅令其风格多样，更使Eagles有着非常好的和声。乐队几位成员各个擅长几种乐器也使Eagles的音乐有着广阔的发挥空间。乔·沃什的幽默诙谐，也时常给演出带来新鲜的感觉，在乐队融为一体的情况下，1976年底推出专辑"HotelCalifornia"，销量达九百万，创下了美国摇滚乐的纪录。其中歌曲"Hotel California"，以其动人的曲调和境界，生动的歌词，很快风行美欧，在美国流行乐排行榜上连续数周第一，至今仍然为人称道。1977年，Bass手提摩西·B·苏密特加入乐队，至此，Eagles形成了我们今天看到的样子。
EAGLES的演唱也有缺点，由于唐·享利和格伦·富莱过份追求演唱声音的完美，使得EAGLES的演唱会上，常常是每个人都一动不动地坐在那里，整个演唱会缺乏一种激情。同时，乐队其它成员的风格也不能得到充分的发挥，这势必影响了乐队的情绪，到1980年末，由于唐·享利和格伦·福莱的不合宣布解散。解散后，The Eagles专辑平均每年都有150万张的销量。从此，乐坛失去了The Eagles的身影，以及他们热情澎湃的歌声与美妙和谐的和声。
1994年，Eagles再度联手，出了新的专辑"Hell freezes over"其中包人部分作品，和部分经典的老作品，最值得一提的是"Hotel California"经过全新的编排,再加上唐·享利凄凉的声音，更显出其中的意味。Eagles的复出再交引起了人们的关注，尤其是大部分的中国听众，大多是从这张专辑开始了解Eagles的。
